and technology REEFTEK SURF RODS are 100%
hand built in UK by ALBA RODS
and with the exception of the tried and tested FUJI
guides, the blanks and components are all 100% UK
manufactured, even the threads and resins.

The range at present is small, (3 rods), but
between them they address a wide variety of shore based
angling applications. The three rods are all 14 feet in
two sections. The blanks used for the REEFTEK SURF
RODS are precision built by HARRISONS ADVANCED
RODS in LIVERPOOL. ( www.harrisonrods.co.uk ) HARRISONS
are world reknowned for their trout and salmon fly rods
as well as carp & catfish rods. A large number of the
staff and management at Harrisons are devoted shore anglers
so it was only a matter of time before shore rods were developed.
The "time" for development took over two years
and involved some of the UK`s top tournament casters in
conjunction with Harrisons state of the art blank manufacturing
facilities.
The rods follow the tradition of the best
beachcasters having a parallel butt with put-in tip, however
tradition ends there.
The Diameter of the butt is lower than you
may expect being 1 inch (25mm) as these blanks utilise the
TORRIX lay up of high modulus UD carbon
and ultra light 90 degree carbon scrim. Instead of the traditional
parallel put-in joint, these blanks all feature a diamond
cut, tapered joint, which will ensure a secure and tight
connection for years to come. The joints are provided with
some serious factory reinforcing which eliminates the need
for heavy thread over wraps. The reinforcing itself is a
work of art. The smooth, carbon gery, glass like finish
of the blank is second to none and offers minimal air resistance
during casts.
To compliment the exceptionally high standard
of the blanks we offer a build which features FUJI
ALCONITE guides, single over wrapped to keep weight
to a minimum. The thread wraps are covered with three layers
of light build polymer resin. Normally maroon with gold
trim bands but as these rods, like all the ALBA rods are
built to order the colour scheme can be altered to suit
the client. The butt grip is a hard wearing, non slip granular
coating which will give years of service and easily wiped
clean. This is available in grey or black or a combination
of both as in the photos.
Reel seat is a TALON 11,
again from a UK manufacturer which features a removeable
trigger grip. A highly reflective tape is applied to the
tip section and factory sealed. Where the superb action
of these rods are not affected (at the butt) a feature chevron
butt wind is applied. Even the rubber butt cap is made by
Wayland in UK.
TRACER is the lightest of
the three rods with a medium action casting 3 - 5oz. An
excellent estuary rod with the 14ft length able to accomodate
long traces. This rod is also ideally suited for fixed spool
applications. Unlike the other two rods in the range the
Tracer has a medium, mid to tip action. Bite indication
is excellent in most situations but perhaps less so in heavy
tide runs or very strong winds...................................£256.00
LM14 the all round beach
rod casting 4 - 6 oz and would be my first choice for beach
fishing in most situations. It has a good balance of power,
weight and sensitivity and can be used reel up or down (as
can all three rods) There is a lot of power in the butt
section and the tip is fairly stiff although forgiving.
Very strong tides and winds are no problem to this rod as
far as bite indication is concerned....................................£278.00
PROTEUS A stiff, rough
ground rod (the rod that attained 270yds in development
tests). The power in the rod is phenomenal and is not for
the faint hearted or beginner. In experienced hands it will
push the boundaries of a casters potential. Casting 5 -
-7 oz it is the most powerful rod in the range and also
well capable of taking to the tournament field wih the best

delivery on UK mainland. REEFTEK rods are built to order
and as with all the ALBA rods we do not rush production
allowing time for correct build and drying processes so
delivery is approximately 3-4 weeks from date of order.
Blanks are delivered to me with the Conoflex graphics and
rod name. Reel seats are UK made TALON which are neat, powerful
and adjustable in position. They also feature a trigger grip
which can simply be removed if not required. Coasters or fixed
FUJI reel seats can be implemented at no additonal charge.
Rod can be ringed for either conventional multiplier or fixed
spool use. Custom thread butt winds can be added at small
additional cost, normally £8.00 - £15.00 depending
on design preference.
All
the specifications mentioned above can be altered to suit your
own particular preferences, often at no additional charge. The
prices quoted in the pricelist are based on the build specification
